This pair of cups was made in the Qing dynasty of zitan wood. This is the rarest of woods used in making Chinese art objects: it is not Chinese but rather from India. This pair of cups is quite old: the patina has built up quite a bit and is quite thick. The handles on each are shaped like pieces of bamboo. They are simple but very elegant.
