| This is a very good "yixing" snuff bottle. It is in very good condition. The cover seems to be younger than the bottle. The wax seal was applied when the snuff came back to China, circa 2000. It does not affect the condition and can be removed. This snuff bottle is like Yixing but is not yixing. It is made in Gengyang, a place in the contemporary city of Tangshan, the second largest city in Hebei. It is in Fengrun district in Tangshan. The snuff must have been made in Gengyang at least 100 years ago. The maker of the snuff was a Mr Han: either he or his workshop signed the bottle. Gengyang existed as a place as early at the Ming dynasty. | ||||||||
