From the Yoruba Tribe in Nigeria comes this striking Ifa Divination Cup. Through Ifa, diviners interrogate the spirit world on behalf of their followers so that they may know their destiny. The cup is a maternity figure showing a child -- with its head turned to its left -- holding on to its mother. The face of mother exhibits the typical serenity found in good Yoruba sculpture. Traces of camwood are evident all over sculpture. Height: 13 inches (33cm), Diameter: 6 inches (15.5cm).
