Pair of handpainted porcelain hibachis by the prestigious Imari kiln. Multicolored with frolicking rabbits, flowers and trees. Very charming and beautifully rendered. Hibachis were used for heating; they contained coals and were situated next to a person in a room for warmth. Nalukataq is the spring whaling festival of the Inupiaq Eskimos of Northern Alaska and is characterized famously by the Eskimo Blanket Toss. Pair of bronze lamps with shades. Each lamp and shade depicts different beautiful nature scenes with Mt. Fuji as center. The finish and art work is in the damascene style that was popular in the 1960s, black background with gold tones. In very good condition. Japanese.
