A Chinese mother of pearl veneered box, the hinged cover with a central panel of applied raised decoration of engraved flora and foliage. A gabled surround separates it from a border containing shaped cartouches terminating in a rope-pattern edge.The sides of the box have similar design. The interior and base are lined with fabric.
