It is exceptional in several respects: the incised black pen decoration depicts Chinese figures, indicating that it was made by a small group of Chinese craftsmen who had migrated to the East coast of India. Further,to create colour contrast, clever use of buffalo horn was made in the exterior base border, interior lid border, the covers of compartments and ball feet.Note that the horn has turned dark ...click for details

An Anglo-Indian ebony tea caddy from the region of Negina, carved in low relief with the flora and foliage of the region.
