A Chinese silver Pailou arch, its pediment surmounted by four columns, the central one bearing a finial flame decoration. the inscription " Baishi Liufang-song Jun zhu je" refers to Li Ji's praise of virtuous women " Fame will be passed on from generation to generation, celebration of virtue strong as pine and bamboo". The pillars are decorated with dragon heads. This is a highly desirable item, cast beautifully, with details sharp and undamaged. size: 9.2 cm high, weight: 85 grams (2.98 oz ).maker's stamp to the base: HC (Hong Chong 1860-1930). Age; late 19C. condition is excellent. No repair, no breaks.
