| A Chinese fan of ivory carved all over with figures at leisure in the typical Canton idiom, against a background of fine brise pierced work.The distinguishing feature of this fan is that it is double-sided, i.e. both the back and the front are carved ,each with a different scene.Therefore, two sets of carving on one stick of thin ivory is an evidence of the competence and virtuosity of the artist. We can obtain CITES LICENCE if needed. size: 7 1/2 inches (19 cm ) length of the sticks.age: C. 1860. condition: very good, the ribbon is replaced in the past, a couple of pin pricks as seen in the images. | |||||||||||||||
