| A Chinese ivory bitong type brush pot from the Canton region carved with the typical continuous panorama of figures at leisure in pavilions against a backdrop of hanging trees, elaborate buildings and dense foliage. It is raised on a carved and pierced circular base. Detailed and meticulous work. We can obtain CITES Export Licence if necessary ( 2/3 weeks). size: 5 3/4 inches (15cm) high. 3 1/2 inches (9cm) diameter of the opening.age; C. 1870. condition; very good indeed, only a few faint hairlines to the edge of the rim as seen in the image and an old repair near the base evidenced by a slight vertical shadow. | |||||||||||||
