| A Chinese ivory tusk vase on stand, deeply carved all round with a battle scene featuring horsemen with long swords galloping, foot soldiers with shields, banners and flags; the reverse with a peaceful panorama of figures in pavilion.The stand has a pierced and carved border. This is a substantial carving where the craftsman has utilized a good quality and thick section of the tusk. The condition is excellent- with minor hairlines on the flat of the rim.Size: 9 1/2 inches (24 cm) high including the base.Age: C. 1890.
