Unusual Art Nouveau sterling silver (wood-backed) picture frame, Birmingham, England, 1905. Bottom portion of frame has motto "DINNA FORGET," which is part of the original design of the frame. @8 1/4" high x @7" across the bottom x @5 3/4" at middle (widest) point. Holds @4 1/2" x @6 1/4" photo. Has a small piece of wood missing from top of "easel" part of back of frame (see photo)commensurate with age and use. A fantastic piece for the collector!

Sterling silver, footed thread holder, Birmingham, England, Harold & Ashwin - makers, retailed at Mappin & Webb. Hinged, pierced top has hole for thread to emerge, and is decorated with flowers, etc.; bottom is footed and decorated with flowers and swirls. Cartouche on "lid" is engraved with lovely, script "FV" monogram which looks like part of the design of the piece; the bottom half of the thread holder is engraved: "Many happy returns, 4th November, 1894." ...click for details
