| Silver plate three-bottle tantalus, Walker and Hall, Sheffield, England,Ca.1900.Bottles (cut in a striped pattern with a "starburst" on underside)are original, as is the key. Has an unusual opening mechanism: when the key is turned in the lock, the bracket holding the bottles tilts forward, allowing the bottles to be easily removed. To restore bracket to original position, gently push bracket back into place and turn the key; this will once again lock the tantalus. Case is numbered "1", "2" and "3," indicating placement of bottles. @15" (at base) x @13 1/4" (to top of handle) x @6 1/2" deep. Plating is in great shape, and does not have to be re-done.(Some "bubbling" in plate at top of lock). | ||||||||
