| Sterling silver footed box, London, 1903, William Comyns - maker. Pierced, hinged lid depicts what is most probably a wedding scene, and is decorated with wedding bells, flowers, leaves and a couple inside of a horse-drawn coach surrounded by cheering people. Sides of box are decorated with birds, flowers and faces; acanthus leaves decorate tops of curved legs. Has a very slight "dint" near rear left hinge that is commensurate with age and use. @7" wide x @4 1/2" high x @4 1/2" deep. Beautiful! | ||||||||||
