This is a stunning example of Miguel Melendez's work. The sterling brooch is set with Lapis and measures 2 inches by 1 1/4 inches. Melendez's mark, a large script "m" with the end encircling the letter, is on the back and it is marked Sterling. Melendez worked in Taxco, Mexico, from 1935 to the 1990s.
