William Cowper 1731 - 1800 was an English poet and hymnodist who is regarded as one of the forerunners of Romantic poetry. He wrote poems about everyday life. This collection of his works includes a memoir, a portrait and twenty engravings on steel with tissue protectors. The book measures 6 1/2 inches by 4 inches.
