The majestic rooster was produced by Stewart B McCulloch, a California potter in the 1940s. The rooster is 9 7/8 inches tall and 7 inches long. There has been a repair on the comb of the rooster, but the colors of greens, yellows, pinks and turquoise are vivid. This is a great addition to a collection or as a single display piece.

The Beswick china figurine of "Old Mr Brown" is from the story, "The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin" written by Beatrix Potter in 1903. The figurine of the owl and the squirrel is 3 1/4 inches tall and 2 3/4 inches wide and is in perfect condition. The vintage strawberry pin was manufactured by the Jomaz company in the late 1950s/ early 1960s. Joseph Mazer founded the company in 1946 and they are known for making elegant, high quality costume jewelry. The company closed in 1981. Jomaz jewelry is highly collectible and prices have held firm. The strawberry pin is marked "JOMAZ" and measures 1 1/8 inches by 5/8 inch. The antique wooden wood plane is 6 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches tall plus another 1 1/2 inches for the plane handle. It has its blade and has been well used judging from the wear on the hand hold. It dates from the late 1800s/ early 1900s.

The antique cigar press hails from Virginia and dates from the early 1900s. The wooden press is 22 inches long by 5 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches thick. There are two halves that come apart with the slots for the cigars in the middle. Used in the hand manufacturing of cigars, this press shaped the cigars into the desired shape once they were rolled and cut. (See also the antique cigar cutter that I have listed.)

The silver plate fruit spoons were manufactured by Holmes & Edwards (International) in the Assyrian/Greek pattern in 1889. The spoons are 5 3/4 inches long with a shaped and pointed bowl which makes removing orange or grapefruit segments easy. In the Victorian tradition, there had to be an implement for all occasions and uses and these are a beautiful example.

The sterling silver lizard brooch measures 3 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide. It is marked"Mexico Sterling TS-78 925". This would indicate that it was made in Taxco, Mexico and S-78 is the silversmith's mark. It would date from 1978 or a little later. There is a contrasting metal stripe running along the back of the lizard or iguana which helps emphasize the sinuous movement of the piece.

The vintage sterling silver brooch has a convex square in the center measuring 1 1/8 inches with circles on either side. The variation of a bar pin is 2 3/4 inches long and 1 1/2 inches across. The brooch is in excellent condition.

The vintage sterling silver bracelet has 6 links of leaf-like shape. The bracelet is 8 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and dates from the 1950s. It is marked "Danecraft Sterling" and is in excellent condition. As with most Danecraft jewelry the design is inspired by nature. It is very light on the arm.
