This weight bearing architectural support is made from a solid piece of Northern Chinese Elmwood was most probably used as a supporting beam over an entrance. The scene is believed to represent Yue Fei (1103 - 1142 A.D.) who was a Chinese patriot and nationalist military leader who fought for the Southern Song Dynasty against the Jurchen (a northern tribe which established the Jin Dynasty). A Piece of Railway History This is a dining car seat from the original Siam Express. Eventually this train connected Singapore, Malaya (Malaysia) through Siam and to the River Kwai ,or more correctly Khwae Noi, and the Burmese Border beginning during the time of British colonization in South East Asia and India. . Made of golden teak. The patina is awesome. Provenance: Purchased at auction, State Railways of Thailand.

This is a very early, traditional cabinet used for storing objects related to Buddhist ceremonies.Red lacquer over elmwood. It’s origin is Shanxi province. This style can be seen depicted in paintings, pottery and funerary objects dating back to the 16th century. Qianlong Period, Qing Dynasty circa late 17th-early 18th century. Original hardware and construction consistent of this period. Heavy remnants of the original lacquer. Excellent condition.
