This group consist of :, -- an outstanding finial base of heavy pierced metal. The pierced metal is in the form of two interlocking 5-clawed dragons which move freely. The finial base is heavily incised with gold designs. The small jewel at button is either a uncut, polished ruby stone or a richly colored uncut, polished agate stone. It is not glass. The Gya-Ling as known in Tibetan Language is one the traditional ritual instrument made from a hardwood bore. This example is made of black rosewood. It is a type of flute instrument derived from Indian tradition and named Gya-Ling with reference to its source. It has the typical bell-shaped trumpet end, and a reed mouthpiece . A very fine yarn winder used for holding raw silk floss as it is in process of being prepared for looming. The wheel is made of highly polished and lacquered hardwood. This is an exceptional forth-rank officials finial/ insignia for a formal court summer Ji Guan, The opaque blue hexagon ( six sided ) Peking Glass crown is mounted in a intricately formed base with a single pearl. The Base metal is bronze with a heavy copper component and is heavily gilded all round. Dimensions: Heigth---5 inches, Diameter of base----2 inches Excellent condition. This Fine Yok Yet Pagya style Betel Box is from the Mandalay period circa 1930. The design consists of a dense crowd of figures on a background of green lacquer hatching and is sometimes referred to as the " thousand dancing monkey design " This pattern is carried throughout on the sides and bottoms of this piece.
