A pair of early Edo Period Japanese Silvered Copper Pricket Candle Sticks.
The overall design is of chrysanthemums “kiku” against a beaded ground.
The tall upright, tapered columns rest on and rise from wide spread high domed eighteen-petal chrysanthemum bases. They culminate in a chrysanthemum-shaped candle dishes with an upright prickets on which to position the candle within a circular support. (see photo included).
