This very fine old and worn canoe prow was collected on in the Muric Lakes Region around the mouth of the Sepic River. Carved with Talismans and clam symbols, the two faces here are typical of designs from this region. Dimensions: 54 inches high X 18 inches wide at the base X 14 inches deep Weight: 30 Lbs.

A beautifully framed kina shell from, Papua New Guinea. Traditionally used as currency and as a bride price. Modern day Papua New Guinea currency is the kina. Mother of pearl, ocher, cowry shells, hung on a thick woven band professionally framed in neutral colors: gilded wooden inside border. The matting and background is beige raw silk.
