A Set of Eight Beige to Russet Nephrite Jade Horses
Eight lively nephrite jade horses each posed in a unique prancing or recumbent position. Late Ming to early Qing Dynasty. Uneartded Hubei Province. Overall surfaces and edges of the objects typical of those formed by a carborundum, perhaps a sand based compound, and soft tools i.e. bamboo instruments. Excellent condition. Intact and with some earth accretions in the crevices. There are no repairs The set are mounted on two custom stands made from solid blocks of rosewood crafted to receive the unique footprints of each piece. One stand slightly higher than the other to allow clear view of entire set. The size of each piece varies slightly. Average Dimensions: 5 inches wide X 4 inches high Excellent condition.
