A Chinese Qing Dynasty Chaozhu (Court Necklace)
The Chaozhu is complete with its Bamboo and Gilt-Decorated Lacquer Ring-Shaped Box and Cover The necklace composed of one hundred and eight carved beads, possibly Bodhi seeds, evenly spaced between four reticulated jadeite jiehzu, connecting beads, the central jiezhu suspending a carved jadeite pendant between carved pink coral beads on two entwined silk threads which divide and further suspend coral beads and tear-drop-shaped Peking Glass pendants. The ring-shaped covered box decorated with finely woven bamboo threads and gilt, both presented within an attractive shadowbox frame with a border of gilded wood and raw silk. Dimensions: the ring-shaped box diameter 7 1/2 in.
