Tibetan Silver Statue - Garuda
This silver Tibetan statue features Garuda, an ancient Indian mythological creature, believed to be a devourer of serpents and the king of the birds. His body was half man and half eagle. In Hindu mythology, he is often depicted flying across the sky carrying the supreme god Vishnu and his wife Lakshmi. In this statue, it depicts Garuda stepping on a half human, half serpent, while his arms stretched wide to hold a large serpent. Garuda is a symbol often standing on the top roof of Tibetan monasteries and is a fearful guardian. Size: 5” by 5”.
