Beautiful 7 tier Fearn Adelphi antique opera telescope C.1790-1820. The telescope is signed on the eye piece section, Fearn, Adelphi, Strand, London. This was an 18th century firm in London which sold quality jewelry and watches etc. A very decorative telescope opening to 7 tiers, including the base. Metal appears to be a gilded brass with an elaborate raised design of flowers and leaves on the base section. Opens well and gives a good clear viewing image. A very attractive and useable telescope.
Condition: Very good, with minor age discoloration on metal.
Size: Height- 3 3/4 inches open; 1 1/2 inches closed. Diameter 1 7/8 inches across base.

This is an exceptionally beautiful, made in France, ormolu book with seven reverse painted scenes of Paris set into the front cover. Very likely a souvenir purchased in the Palais Royale shops. The book has its original pencil, and a small calendar in a side pocket that dates the piece to 1856. The first page of the note book is marked with a small engraving of a couple and the word - 'Souvenir'. The following eight pages are blank, then two thicker pages with the days of the week in French, followed by several more blank pages for notes or comments.
The book has a royal purple velvet spine and a red watered silk lining. The original leather case has a cream silk and velvet interior and hook closures.
One of the finest pieces I have seen.
Condition: Very good. Images bright and clear. Metal work bright. Case has minor scuffing.
Size: Case- 4 3/4 X 3 1/2 X 5/8 inch. Book: 3 3/4 X 2 1/2 X 1/4 inch.

This is very interesting watch key with a swivel top showing three different stones. A bloodstone, an agate, and a citrine, or amber glass. The top swivels so each of the stones can be facing upwards. The key itself is a bit longer than usual, and I believe it to be gold plated. There is also a small ring attached a bit more than halfway up the shaft that would allow the piece to be attached to a chain. The key would then hang horizontally and make a very attractive pendant.
Condition: Very minor age wear under magnification.
Size: length- 2 inches.

This rare Samson & Mordan Owl Retractable Pencil is a very unusual piece. The design is of a detailed silver owl with large opalescent glass eyes. When the top ring is pulled up, a pencil slides out of the body at the bottom. The owl is beautifully engraved and very realistic in appearance. The piece is marked S. Mordan & Co., and has been tested sterling. Could be worn as a pendant, or charm, as the piece is very attractive.
Condition: Fine. Tiny rub on one glass eye, but does not detract in any way. Rich color to the silver.
Size: Closed- 1 ¼ inches. Open- 2 ¼ inches.
