The flat links are joined together with round links, and the necklace closes by a large spring ring which fits into the bale of the locket. Choker style. Very impressive piece.
Condition: Very good. A very tiny ding on the back of the locket, but this does not detract from the appearance. . No glass in locket.
Size: Chain- 17 inches. Locket- 2 1/4 X 1 3/4 inches.

Quite an unusual Chinese Canton enamel water dropper. Designed in the shape of a lotus leaf and enameled, either over bronze or iron. Quite a heavy piece. The central design of the leaf is very sensually done with opalescent white and varying shades of blue. The bottom of the piece is designed as the reverse of the leaf. The small inside handle supports a tube from which water can be poured out, and there is a small hole in the bottom of the bowl where the water enters. Used in painting and calligraphy.
Quite a fascinating piece.
Condition: Minor enamel loss, but does not detract from the overall appearance.
Size: 5 X 3 3/4 X 1 1/4 inches.

This is truly a masterpiece of Japanese lacquer. Cannot find a signature on the piece, but the workmanship must be distinctive to experts in the field. The design is of a stylized water scene with various branches and blossoms in variegated gold and gray colors. There are five medallions, or mons, on the body, as well as two on the lid. The interior is a rich red lacquer color, and there was originally a small oval label on the bottom, which said c. 1750, but has come off over time leaving a small darker patch. Ewer stands on three feet. Exquisite workmanship and colors.
Condition: Tiny area of professional restoration on the red lacquer inside lip of the spout. A few minor lacquer loss areas, but overall in very good condition.
Size: height- 4.5 inches. diameter – 4 inches. diameter including spout – 6 inches,
