A very sweet vintage pincushion with a ivory colored celluloid basket weave base. The velvet pincushion top is decorated by a silk flower ribbon and two original silk bows. Very attractive and unusual. Condition: Minor fading of the velvet. Size: width- 3 3/4, height- 1 3/4 inches.

Beautiful antique strawwork needle case. Work of this type was done by prisoners of war using dyed pieces of straw over a wooden shape. Many of these pieces have had their colors faded over the years, but this one has been well cared for, and is both bright and well designed. Tassels on each end give the case an interesting, and unusual touch. C. 1820. Condition: Fine. Size: Length- 3 7/8 inches.

This is a very sweet miniature beaded pincushion. Very small in size and done in tiny seed beads with gold bead highlights around the circumference and cream silk ends. The little pincushion comes in its original gift box with an inscription on the top… “ A Tiny Beadwork Pincushion – for your collection C. 1820 when beadwork came into fashion“. Beautiful workmanship for such a tiny piece. Condition: Fine. Size: 7/8 x ¾ inch.

This is a very sweet metal sewing tape measure in the shape of a turtle. The turtle’s head is also the pull tab of the measuring tape. Back is heavily decorated, and has the saying "Pull My Head But Not My Leg". Very well modeled, and with good detail. This piece is rather unusual, as it is metal, rather than celluloid. Condition: Fine. Size: Length- 2 inches. Width- 1 3/8 inches.

This is a very lovely carved mother of pearl needle case. On the front is the design of an enamel and gold pansy that was the symbol of the Palais Royale, a fancy area of shops near the Louvre in Paris. The piece dates to the early 19th century and has a beautiful rich color to the mother of pearl. Condition: Overall fine. Very tiny edge chip on inside tongue, and small stress lines. Outside perfect. Size: length- 3 1/8 inches

This is quite a rare 18th century silver filigree thimble, tape measure, and perfume scent bottle. A wonderful piece, that has a long elegant screw on thimble concealing a cut glass scent bottle and stopper. The opposite end, or top, is a tape measure with a twist top to retract the tape. There is a small ring at the top to allow the piece to be hung on a chain or chatelaine. The filigree work is exceptional with amazing detail. Condition: Fine. Stopper is stuck to the bottle as is common with old scent bottles. Tape is old, but likely replaced. Size: height 2 inches to top of ring.
