This is a really whimsical vintage leather bound volume with the title Pig Book, that is quite difficult to place in a category. Shaped like an autograph book, and in some ways is very like one. The idea is that on each page there is a blank area surrounded by illustrations of pigs in various activities and a short, sometimes humorous saying The person who 'signs' the page is required to draw a pig with their eyes closed, and then write their name and the date at the bottom. The overall result are some really weird pigs!
The book dates from the 1920's and is dedicated at the front, "From Mother to the Little Piggie that stayed home". Many of the pages have been signed with only a few left blank. The book has been conserved by a professional book conservator to allow it to be stable and read.
Condition: Very good.
Size: 8 1/4 X 5 3/4 inches. 32 double side pages.

This is a interesting daguerreotype that I had purchased some time ago, and was told came from Livingston, outside of Boston. There was a note inside the case identifying the lady as, "Edward Payson Nichol's Mother". It would be an interesting project to research the history of this family.
Case is an embossed brownish color with a red satin interior.
Condition: Very minor oxidation around the edges, and a bit of dust under the glass. Usual minor wear to the case. Overall, very good.
