A very unusual wide hinged brass and Bakelite bracelet with the central section containing a compact. The brass wrist band can be sized smaller because of the hook closing and four adjustment spaces. There are three Bakelite sections, one on each side of the metal framed central panel. The metal frame has a small lip, that when lifted, opens to reveal a small compact inside complete with powder puff an mirror. All appear to be original to the piece. A very interesting bracelet with beautiful rich colors.
Condition: Very good. Minor scuffing to the brass, but does not detract from the overall appearance.
Size: Inside circumference 6 1/2 inches, bit could be adjusted smaller. Height at front - 1 3/4 inches.

A truly wonderful Satsuma necklace consisting of thirteen plaques of different scenes. The motifs include Samurai in elaborate costumes with raised gold work, Geishas in colorful outfits, chrysanthemums, and birds perched on flowering branches. The detail work is so amazing that it is difficult to describe each plaque, as all are different. Really an amazing group. The backs are silver colored with a Japanese mark on each one, and the plaques are joined by links so that the piece could be expanded if necessary. The links are longer by one loop one one side, so the piece falls well as a necklace. Closure is by a hook and loop. It does have to be placed a bit wide on the neck, and then falls beautifully. Each of the plaques is really a small work of art.
Condition: Very nice.
Size: Length-22 inches. Largest plaque- 1 7/8 inches in diameter. Others - 1 1/2 inches.
