Lovely antique mechanical walking doll called an Autoperipatetikos. The doll has a lovely Parian doll head with an elaborate hairdo, and braids and brush marks on the side of the hair. The blue eyes are beautifully painted with red lines over the eyelids. Painted mouth, and a molded shoulder plate with three painted gold buttons. Arms are leather with individually sewn fingers. Body is carton with remnants of a label, and the feet are metal, painted a gold color. Original key. Antique dress with ribbons at the shoulder and around the waist. Quite a striking and unusual doll in working order. Condition: Very good. Very thin original firing line in front of neck. Size: 11 1/4 inches. |
