A very unique Victorian Treen scissors sharpener. Turned wood, very like a chess piece, with a lovely patination to the wood. Between the top and bottom sections there is a grooved metal plate. Like so many Victorian implements, I wouldn't have know what this is for, except for the original paper label on the bottom of the piece giving the instructions for use, as well as "VR patent". A very unusual piece. Condition: Very nice. Sizer: h-1 3/4 X w-1 1/8 inches. |
