This is a interesting daguerreotype that I had purchased some time ago, and was told came from Livingston, outside of Boston. There was a note inside the case identifying the lady as, "Edward Payson Nichol's Mother". It would be an interesting project to research the history of this family.
Case is an embossed brownish color with a red satin interior. Condition: Very minor oxidation around the edges, and a bit of dust under the glass. Usual minor wear to the case. Overall, very good. Size: Case: 4 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches. Image: 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 inches |
