A lovely large Mexican silver brooch in the design of a Quetzal bird perched on a flowering branch. The brooch is in high relief with turquoise stones in the center of the flowers., and is marked on the back.. Mexico, ave Juarez AG, Prieto. The markings are a bit worn, but still readable. I believe the brooch is hollow, which is a more difficult method of construction. Pin and safety catch fastening. A very striking piece, with a lovely luster to the silver and highlighted with the turquoise stones. Condition: Very nice. A couple of minor dents on the back. Size: Height- 4.5 inches. |
