This is a lovely small carved ivory lidded box that was very likely done in Dieppe, as the workmanship is extremely fine. Design on the top of the lid shows an assortment of flowers, leaves, grapes, and fruit, with a central plaque that could be used for initials if one wished. Beautiful rich color and grain to the ivory, and exceptional detail in the carving. Condition: Fine. No cracks or chips. Lid closes firmly. Size: 2 ½ X ¾ inch to top of carving. |
