An early 19th century hair brooch in the shape of a snake biting its tail, which is a symbol for eternity.
The snake's body is textured in a fine criss cross pattern which is very effective, and the hair in the crystal center is in two colors forming an interesting design, almost like moss agate. Tested 14K gold.
Lovely historical piece, with the original C clasp and pin. Size: 1 1/8 by 3/4. Condition: Very good. Small trace of solder under original c clasp. |
