A lovely pair of small 18th century needlework pictures that are unusual in that they are still vibrant after about 250 years. They are done in extremely fine silk thread tent stitch, and are of pastoral scenes of ladies and gentlemen. The pieces have wonderful shading and coloring in blue, red, green, cream, brown and tan. The workmanship is meticulous. They are in antique oval frames with original brass loops for hanging. Very unusual in this size. Size: sight size 4 inches x 3 inches, framed 6-1/4 inches x 5-1/2 inches. Condition: excellent |
