A wonderful early 19th century oil on canvas
portrait of a young girl with crimped hair, a sweet expression, and a string of coral beads for good luck. She is wearing a white regency style dress with blue band trimming and ribbons on the shoulders. To her side is a theorem style basket of fruit, and behind her is a red curtain to one side as a background. She appears to be holding a piece of fruit in her hand. The picture is framed on a liner possibly for a larger frame. Really a lovely image. Condition: Original condition. Not relined. The picture has been blacklighted and not repainted. Some areas of missing paint and a couple of minor repairs. Deep rich colors.
