There’s a fly in my bracelet! …
One-of-a-kind wonderful, in both concept and construction, this sterling silver bracelet makes for attention-getting wearable art. Superbly articulated, it is composed of seven slightly convex, rectilinear links, interconnected by pin hinges. These links {four on one side, three on the other} flank a centerpiece that is also rectilinear in shape, but larger. Comprising three hinged sections, the center plaque is embellished with two beautiful, bezel-set, green turquoise cabochons...and a fly sitting between them! Meticulously handwrought in silver, this realistic fly figural is at once sublimely abstract and surreal. It is a singular, visual surprise that makes the bracelet a captivating work of mid-20th-Century modernism. HALLMARKS: STERLING. DIMENSIONS: 6-7/8” long x 3/8” wide. The center panel measures 1-3/8” long x 3/4” tall. The fly measures approximately 10mm x 9mm. WEIGHT: 23.2 grams. CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition, definitely collector quality. The oval turquoise cabs are in superior shape, displaying outstanding coloration and natural attributes. The bracelet closes with a secure, large J-hook clasp. |
