Circa 1940’s, this exceptional, bucket-style, over the arm handbag is a real showpiece! Imposing in dimension and heft, it is entirely covered with glass beads. The main body, including the loop handle, boasts medium, round beads in a pearly cream color. Encircling the bag’s center is a gathered, ribbon-like embellishment, composed of translucent micro beads in a vibrant palette of pale pink, copper, sky blue, light blue, and lavender. The piece has a hard, circular base, also completely covered in beads. A strong, hinged frame opens to a diamond-shape and snaps tightly closed. The interior is fully lined in a medium brown satin faille and there is one sidewall pocket. Guaranteed to garner attention, this is an eminently wearable purse, as well as a splendid addition to any vintage accessories collection. LABEL: None. DIMENSIONS: 9-1/2” at its widest x 8” tall x 5-1/8” deep at its base. The strap has a 6” drop. CONDITION: There is very light fading in the lining by the opening, otherwise the bag is spotless, and in excellent vintage condition inside and out. There are no missing or loose beads evident. |
