40s Vintage Spratling Motif Silver Half Balls Bracelet
¡Muy excepcional! … This exquisite bracelet boasts a faithful interpretation of a design produced by William Spratling, during his First Design Period, 1931-1946. Handwrought in high-content silver {.925 or better}, the piece is composed of fourteen vertical links interconnected by pin hinges. Just as in Spratling’s work, each link is made up of three half balls or hemispheres soldered together, with the top and bottom balls each accented with a petite half bead. Also, in keeping with Spratling’s original, the bracelet is remarkably lightweight, the design is fabulously feminine, and the silver work is brilliantly lustrous. Simply divine!

HALLMARKS: SILVER, MADE IN MEXICO. The bracelet tests for at least sterling silver, though many of these early works were wrought in a higher purity of silver. DIMENSIONS: 7” x 1-3/8”. WEIGHT: 23.1 grams. CONDITION: Dating to the 1930’s or ’40s, the bracelet is in excellent vintage condition, with only some old polish residue that can be easily cleaned away, and minor dimples in a couple of spheres—quite extraordinary for such an old piece. ONLINE REFERENCE: The William Spratling bracelet is can be seen on the definitive Spratling online reference: SpratlingSilver.com, Catalog #PU-5.
