Beautiful flower with petals and leaves made of genuine tortoise shell. The flower is suspended on a spring on the end of the hairpin so that it trembles. The flower is about 2 inches by 2 3/4 inches and 3/4 inch deep – very 3-dimensional. The spring attaches to a 3 3/8 inch long two-prong hairpin. Fantastic! This is a detailed silver salt cellar in the form of a rickshaw, complete with movable wheels and a barefoot Asian man pulling the cart. The maker was Wang Hing & Co., Hong Kong, c.1875-1925. Measures about 4 1/4 inches long, 1 3/4 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall. It still has the hexagonal glass liner.
