The Works of Jean Racine. In French. Published in five volumes in 1803 by G Pierre Didot l'Aine et de Firmin Didot, Paris. These three copies are volumes 1, 2 and 5, being sold separately. (Please indicate which volume you wish to purchase.)
Summary of contents with dates of original publication (see photos for complete content): Tome 1 - La Thebaide ou les Freres Ennemis Tragedie 1664 268pp. Tome 2 - Britannicus Tragedie 1669 288pp. *Tome 3 - Iphigenie, Tragedie 1674 291pp. Tome 4 - Oeuvres Diverses en Vers et en Prose 264pp. Tome 5 - Ovrages atribue 320 pp. (*Tomes 3 & 4 included for reference only.) These small (5-5/16 x 3-7/8 inch) hardcover books have leather binding speckled with gilt lettering and decoration, and marblized paper covered boards. Very good to fine condition with tight pages and covers, slight wear to the leather, minor paper loss to edges of covers and bumped corners. |
