| This is a superb Victorian mahogany sewing box from the late-1800s. It features a rotating pincushion, eight thread spool holders and escutcheons to pull thread, a drawer, a pull out mirror and bone finials. Nicely made with light inlaid wood and bone (ivory?) finials and escutcheons. Sits on four ball feet. Measures about 7 inches wide, 5-1/4 inches deep and 7 inches tall to the top of the pincushion. Very good condition, with a couple of minor repairs, a piece missing from the pedestal holding the pincushion, a partially broken back left finial and a couple of small age cracks in the wood. The mirror silvering is damaged, but what would you expect after more than a century! | ||||||||
