This French Louis XVI or Directoire style gueridon table dates from circa 1900-1910, and features a Vernis Martin painted top with new clear glass, ebonized wooden legs decorated with bronze garland mounts, and raised animal hoof feet. It measures 33" tall and 18" in diameter.
This exceptional and large parquetry inlaid and gilt bronze-mounted commode dates from circa 1900, and exhibits the highest level of craftsmanship. We have inspected a few mounts and found the impressed marks of the bronzier which appear to read HPP, HFP, HPB OR HFB. Condition is excellent.
This extraordinary middle eastern wooden screen is believed to date from the early twentieth century, and features some of the most extensive and exceptional mother-of-pearl, ebony and bone inlay we have ever seen. Motifs are generally Islamic and geometric. This tremendous cabinet by Druce & Company of London dates from the period of Napoleon III or the Third Republic. It measures 92 by 60 by 14 inches (233.7 by 152.4 by 35.6 cm). Inspired by the designs of Boulle under Louis XIV, this ebonized mahogany cabinet features extensive ormolu bronze mounts and brass marquetry. This fabulous pair of carved wooden stools in the shape of standing cats feature multi-colored geometric wooden inlaid designs and their original upholstery which depicts a god with spread wings. We have no details on provenance, and believe they date from the early twentieth century. There are no inlay losses or signs of repair, and only minimal scuffs to the legs in a couple spots. This lovely Italian neoclassical commode dates from the nineteenth century and was recently professionally refinished. It features beautiful parquetry and marquetry inlay and its original brasses. Measures 34.75" and 42" wide and 20" deep (88.4 by 106.7 by 50.8 cm).
This wonderful Arts and Crafts period writing table or desk in oak features a center drawer with original brass pulls, solid through-tenon construction, and corbel brackets supporting the top on front and sides. Maker is unknown and there are no hallmarks. It measures 44" wide, 28" deep and 30.25" high. Fine patina and it doesn't appear that the piece has ever been refinished.
This Arts and Crafts period table in oak dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. It measures 24" wide, 16" deep and 29.25" high. It features sabre legs with gentle cabriole shape, a center drawer with glass pull, and once had a vertical rear back panel (or backsplash as with most wash stands). This incredible antique side cabinet, circa 1890, is an excellent copy of the design by Jean-Henri Riesener (1834-1806) which was installed in the private apartment of King Louis XVI at Versailles in 1775. This Hepplewhite style card or dining table, circa 1830, is crafted from mahogany and feataures inlaid satinwood and rosewood designs including bell flowers, neoclassical oil lamp and pateras.
