This French Louis XVI or Directoire style gueridon table dates from circa 1900-1910, and features a Vernis Martin painted top with new clear glass, ebonized wooden legs decorated with bronze garland mounts, and raised animal hoof feet. It measures 33" tall and 18" in diameter.
This exceptional and large parquetry inlaid and gilt bronze-mounted commode dates from circa 1900, and exhibits the highest level of craftsmanship. We have inspected a few mounts and found the impressed marks of the bronzier which appear to read HPP, HFP, HPB OR HFB. Condition is excellent.
This fabulous pair of carved wooden stools in the shape of standing cats feature multi-colored geometric wooden inlaid designs and their original upholstery which depicts a god with spread wings. We have no details on provenance, and believe they date from the early twentieth century. There are no inlay losses or signs of repair, and only minimal scuffs to the legs in a couple spots. This incredible antique side cabinet, circa 1890, is an excellent copy of the design by Jean-Henri Riesener (1834-1806) which was installed in the private apartment of King Louis XVI at Versailles in 1775. This lovely vitrine by Francois Linke (1855-1946) dates from the early twentieth century. It is signed " F LINKE " on the top of the door and also signed on the bronze railing mount on the left upper side. It measures 52" wide, 45.5" tall and 14.5" deep (132.1 cm by 115.6 cm by 36.8 cm). This extraordinary antique Empire Revival mahogany center table measures an impressive 70.4" across and 32" tall (179 cm by 81 cm) and features four pairs of gilded Greek caryatid figures. The top is made of four sections which fit tightly. There are no major chips to the stone. Condition of the frame is excellent. Chips and nicks to the veneer and composition caryatids are consistent with age. We will be happy to complete professional restoration at our cost prior to shipment.
