This wonderful clock is believed to date from the Empire period and features a gilt and patinated bronze figure with stag, its original hand-painted decorations, and cast bronze mounts including griffins, urns and plaques. Condition of the movement is unknown. This clock most recently came from an Italian auction house, but we have no further details on provenance.
Included in this Bacchanal themed garniture is a mantle clock and matching cassolettes made for and retailed by Tiffany and Company in the U.S. Each element is marked FRANCE and thus we estimate the set dates from as early at the 1890s or as late as the 1910s. This French Empire mantle clock features a cherub on chariot pulled by two horses, plus frieze decorated with neoclassical scenes, and its original pendulum and undamaged porcelain clock face. Movement is working but we cannot verify its reliability or accuracy, and we have no key. Measures 48.9 by 46.4 by 14.6 cm (19.3" by 18.3" by 5.8").
This slate stone and bronze mantle clock was made by Jape Freres et Cie of Paris for Tiffany and Co. of New York. Aside from a missing finial and loss to the slate on the left side, it is in very good condition. The escapement is in working order and the original pendulum is included.
This French bronze clock garniture dates from the nineteenth century, and features a patinated bronze figure of a winged goddess and cherubs on two candelabra. Clock measures 26" tall. "E.P." clock maker's mark is stamped on the escapement, and unfortunately the original markings on the face are worn away. This lovely old porcelain clock in the Meissen style measures 18.25" tall, 12" wide and 7" deep. It features four three-dimensional cherubs involved in various activities within a summer or fall harvest motif. Its condition is excellent and we have found no losses to the raised porcelain decorations. This extraordinary ormolu bronze mantle clock by Paul Gravelin of Paris features silvered neoclassical female figures and is surmounted by a cupid with bow and arrow. The face is marked "Paul Gravelin Paris 3 Rue Charlot". Included is a pendulum marked "THIEBLE" and "SGDG" which is simply the French patent mark which stands for Sans Garantie du Gouvernement. This tremendous mantle clock in the French Louis XIV style dates from the nineteenth century, and features elaborate ormolu bronze decoration. This lovely antique clock dates from the nineteenth century. It features a white porcelain elephant figurine and metal frame with multi-colored porcelain flower heads. There is no marker's mark on the dial nor escapement and the working condition of the movement is not known. It measures 12.25" tall, 8" wide and 4.5" deep.
