This matching pair of monumental, nineteenth century Cantonese porcelain vases measure 50.75" (128.9 cm) tall, and feature a celadon green ground with raised white slip decoration including flowers, trees, butterflies and dragons. This pair of antique Chinese tusk form sculptures are crafted from wooden frames with carved and decorated bone veneer depicting nine Buddha, chimera and elephant. They reside on ebonized wooden pedestals. At 79" (200.7 cm) tall, this is the largest pair of decorative tusks we have ever seen. Overall condition is very good. One tusk has no missing veneer panels, while the other has three missing panels. We an handle restoration of these areas at customer expense, prior to shipment.
This extraordinary pair of Chinese ivory figures measure 40" tall and 44" tall including wooden stands. They depict the Buddhist Gaunyin (Kannon, or Kwan Yin), the Bodhisattva of compassion and mercy. They exhibit the highest level of artistry and are in good condition. Included here is a pair of Chinese export porcelain roosters set upon tree stump bases. Each measures approximately 15.5" high, 9.25" wide and 5" deep. Each weighs an estimated 6-8 lbs. Included here is a pair of old Chinese ceramic planters or vases in the shape of a hippopotamus, with mottled flambe glazed finishes. Each measures 13.5" tall, 17.75" wide and 8.25" deep, and each weighs an estimated 20 lbs. Overall condition is very good. There are repairs.
