This wonderful oil painting by Joseph Paulman (British, 19th-20th Century) depicts a Dutch landscape at sunset with windmill and walking path along a marsh and village in the background. Canvas measures 24 x 36 inches and frame measures 29 x 40.5 x 1.5 inches. The stretcher resides in a period frame measuring 29.5 by 42.25 by 2 inches. Stretcher measures 24 by 30 inches (61 by 91.4 cm). Signed "D SHERRIN" in the lower right corner. This framed oil painting on canvas depicts a lovely young female receiving an audience with the queen. This work is believed to represent Queen Elizabeth (1533-1603), last of the rulers from the House of Tudor, based on the style of attire of the queen and male figures.
