This antique cast iron fireplace in neoclassical style measures 36" wide, 35.75" high and 8" deep. Interior opening measures 19" wide, 19" high and contains its original gas-fired log that measures roughly 5" in diameter. This ornate, antique pedestal is believed to be made from gilded spelter. It is extremely heavy and features wonderfully ornate designs. Measures 39.75" tall and the top surface measures 13.5" square. Likely from the 19th century. The top shows considerable wear consistent with its age. Underside of the top features a scroll and shell motif. Top of the center column features four cherub masks. There is a crack toward the top of the column, but the entire pedestal is nonetheless stable. ...click for details
Included here is a matching pair of leaded glass window panes or door panels dating from around the turn of the century. Each measures 30 5/8" high, 14.5" wide and 3/4" deep. This is a massive, Anglo-Indian, antique Gujarat art teakwood main entrance door from c1850. Recently restored and imported from India. From an old haveli, a royal home with courtyard, this unique door and frame is embellished with the typical lotus flower and brass knobs of Gujarat. Side supports are made from solid one-piece beams. This elaborate and unique doorway, c1860, was styled by artisans from the south of India. Top panel has the image of LAKSHMI, the Indian Goddess of Wealth, who's flanked by elephants known as GAJA LAKSHMI on each side. The large horses on eiher sides of the door are guarding the entire doorway. Elegantly molded door panels were uniquely designed with three different shapes.
