This antique cast iron fireplace in neoclassical style measures 36" wide, 35.75" high and 8" deep. Interior opening measures 19" wide, 19" high and contains its original gas-fired log that measures roughly 5" in diameter. This item resides on the upper west side of Manhattan ( New York city ) and may be seen by appointment.
This ornate, antique pedestal is believed to be made from gilded spelter. It is extremely heavy and features wonderfully ornate designs. Measures 39.75" tall and the top surface measures 13.5" square. Likely from the 19th century. The top shows considerable wear consistent with its age. Underside of the top features a scroll and shell motif. Top of the center column features four cherub masks. There is a crack toward the top of the column, but the entire pedestal is nonetheless stable. ...click for details
