This very large framed oil painting by Hendrik Pieter Koekkoek (1843-1890), is an excellent example from the Dutch Romanticism period. It depicts a gentleman tending to his cattle and sheep along a path leading from his thatched-roof home in the woods. Frame measures 60" wide, 49" high and 4" deep.
